"I want the other team to show me. . ."
What will you make the other coach prove?
Coach,
One of the best questions you can ask before every game isn’t about your team.
It’s about theirs.
What will you make the other coach prove?
Will they have to show you they’ve taught:
Transition defense that lasts 32 minutes?
Offensive rebounding discipline under pressure?
Shot selection that doesn’t fold when you shrink space?
Or the ability to adjust when you attack the same action three possessions in a row?
Most coaches focus on what they want to do.
But the best coaches? They design their game plan to force the opponent to play outside their identity.
If you:
Apply consistent pressure (full-court, half-court, doesn't matter)...
Force teams to play conceptually, not just run plays...
Control shot discipline by collapsing space and driving contact...
Send five to the glass and make them pay if they don’t rebound...
...you put your opponent in the position to prove they’re more prepared than you.
Most won’t be.
In this week’s episode of The Hours, Mark and I break down this powerful mindset and share exactly how to turn it into your coaching advantage—plus, we announce the winner of the SAVI shirt giveaway and reveal how coaches can start earning money with the SAVI affiliate program.
